Dave Lieder has served as the Peace Staff Minister since 2003.  Dave is originally from the Midwest, having grown up in Missouri and Illinois.  He went to Concordia University in River Forest, IL, where he studied to be a teacher and also met his wife, Pat. Dave taught grade school in Lake Zurich and Long Grove, Illinois before moving to Cottonwood in 1978, where he took a position as a teacher with the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District.  Dave officially retired from teaching in 2003, but currently finds himself back in the schools finishing out the school year at Cottonwood Elementary, in addition to serving as Staff Minister.

Dave’s job duties at church are many and varied.  Dave makes hospital visits, home visits, chairs the Peace Education Committee and is pretty much involved in all the inner workings of the church.  You will often find Dave in his office in the early morning hours and throughout the day.  Dave will be the first friendly face you see at Peace on Sunday mornings, as he is our unofficial outside greeter and doorman.  He is always equipped with a friendly smile and most likely a pun or two.  In his spare time, Dave enjoys camping with his grandkids, fishing and the outdoors.

Dave and Pat have two children and five grandchildren.
